The Designer

I began my art career early on, back when Nintendo first came out. Back then, I wanted to make games so I'd spend countless hours designing games from scratch in my room. That love for art and design pushed me to the Ringling College of Art and Design, where I obtained my BFA in Illustration. Following graduation, I worked as a freelance illustrator before accepting a job as a grpahic artist for Jerry's Artarama in Raleigh, North Carolina.

I spent two years working for Jerry's, and eventually made my way into marketing. Once in marketing, I worked to increase their online presence via email marketing while helping them to define their web 2.0 site. When I left in 2007, their online presence had increased by 200%, resulting in more than a hundred thousand new online orders.

In 2007, I accepted a job as a Narrative Designer for Snowblind Studios, a game development company in Bothell, Washington. The year I spent there taught me a lot about the design process both from a designer's persepctive as well as from a larger corporate stand point. I learned how large corporations view their products and how much imagery affects public perception. I became intrigued with this idea... and how imagery draws consumers from one product to another.

In 2009 I began teaching design at the Academy of Art in Seattle. During that time I began to take on a few freelance jobs that involved helping people define their business ideas. After a few freelance jobs I began to explore the field of brand design and corporate identity. Since then, I have never looked back.

Currently I work as a consultant and designer for companies looking to update their corporate image. I work hand in had with each owner to make sure that the final product encapsulates their business philosophy while being unique and accessable to the public.
